Following his selection as the CMA New Artist of the Year, Morgan Wallen made the much anticipated announcement that his sophomore album will be titled Dangerous: The Double Album. It will be over three years after the release of his debut album, If I Know Me, before the 30-track effort is made available for purchase on January 8, 2021.
Wallen was responsible for the majority of the album’s songwriting, but it also includes contributions from other outstanding songwriters such as Ashley Gorley, Shane McAnally, Hillary Lindsey, Rhett Akins, Lee Thomas Miller, Eric Church, Jason Isbell, and Hardy, among others. Then the quarantine began, and we became aware that there was a chance we could really have sufficient time to carry out our plan. In addition, when I was in quarantine with some of my closest friends, I ended up writing a significant number of additional songs. After a few months of production and honing our skills, I am extremely pleased with the end result that we have achieved.
I am aware that 32 (potential) tracks may seem like a lot to take in, but I have done my absolute best to ensure that there is not a single track on which I would choose to push the “next” button. I also wanted the songs to be able to relate to all stages of life and to have a variety of sounds that reflect both the people who have influenced me and the things that I find enjoyable.
